The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining technical documentation and manuals for our aviation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of content management systems, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Responsibilities
- Create, revise, and maintain technical documentation and manuals for aviation operations, including aircraft operation manuals, maintenance manuals, and other aviation-related documentation.
- Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Update existing documentation as required and maintain documentation library.
- Conduct quality control reviews of technical documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
- Participate in the development of new products and services, providing input on documentation requirements.
- Assist in the development of training materials for pilots and maintenance personnel.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the aviation industry.
- Experience working with and proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) theory with the ability to train in a CMS like WebManuals, Adobe FrameMaker, or MadCap’s Flair.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to aviation documentation.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet project deadlines.
